John Yoo is an American attorney, law professor, and author. Yoo served as Deputy Assistant U.S. Attorney General during the George W. Bush administration. One of the things he is best known for is his opinions concerning the Geneva Conventions which legitimized the United States in their War on Terror. He also co-authored the Torture Memo of August 2001, which outlined the legality of the use of enhanced interrogation techniques by the CIA. Yoo is currently a Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.
