Eric H. Cline is a professor of Classics and Anthropology and the current Director of the GWU Capitol Archaeological Institute at George Washington University. He specializes in biblical archaeology, military history in the Mediterranean, and the connections between Greece, Egypt, and the Near East during the late Bronze Age. He has also authored 16 books and more than 100 articles. Cline’s most recent book, 1177 B.C.: The Year Civilization Collapsed, highlights the steady decline and eventual collapse of society and the civilized world in the Bronze Age, which paved the way for the emergence of classical Greece.
