Edward Osborne “E.O.” Wilson is a notable American biologist, researcher, theorist, naturalist, and author. Wilson is most known for is his advancements in myrmecology, the study of ants, and he is considered to be the world’s leading authority on the subject. Some of his other career achievements include being a New York Times bestselling author, a two-time Pulitzer recipient, and is considered in the scientific world to be “the father of sociobiology” and “the father of biodiversity.” Wilson is currently the Pellegrino University Research Professor Emeritus in Entomology at Harvard University.
