Christine Todd Whitman is an American politician and author who served as the 50th Governor of New Jersey from 1994 to 2001 and was the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency during the Bush administration from 2001 to 2003. Whitman is first, and up to this point, the only female governor for the state of New Jersey. Since leaving the EPA, she has served as President of The Whitman Strategy Group, a consulting firm that specializes in energy and environmental issues. She is also co-chair of the Republican Leadership Council, which she founded with Senator John Danforth.
