<p>Library Journal, the oldest and most esteemed publication covering the library industry, has chosen Rebecca D. Costa’s The Watchman’s Rattle: Thinking Our Way Out of Extinction as one of the best science and technology books of 2010.</p>
<p>Books were chosen under several headings, with The Watchman’s Rattle honored by reviewer Gregg Sapp as one of two best selections for the Philosophy of Science category. Sapp released his list of winners on December 16 in Library Journal’s official newsletter Booksmack!, and online at <a href="http://www.libraryjournal.com">http://www.libraryjournal.com</a>.</p>
<p>“The significance of the subject matter is what put The Watchman’s Rattle over the top for me,” said Sapp. “It was a nice complement to my list of best selections, and it certainly stands on its own as a must-read.”</p>
<p>With nearly 7,000 books reviewed annually in the pages of Library Journal, Costa said she is humbled by the fact that hers was part of a small number chosen to be among the best.</p>
